Congress has a long-standing interest in seeing that immigration enforcement agencies identify and deport serious criminal aliens. The expeditious removal of such aliens has been a statutory priority since 1986, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its predecessor agency have operated programs targeting criminal aliens for removal since 1988. This book examines the four programs the DHS operates to target criminal aliens with a focus on the merits of jail enforcement programs and the role of state and localities in immigration enforcement.

The recent level of illegal immigration to the United States has increased debates about the effect of these immigrants on the cost of public services, and states have begun to enact policies that limit the public services available to illegal immigrants. The central issues are how many illegal immigrants reside in particular local areas and states and their effect on public expenditures and revenues and the economy in general. The Local Fiscal Effects of Illegal Immigration workshop selected six studies for analysis. The six case studies focused on one specific aspect of the complex question of the demographic, economic, and social effects of immigration: the net public services costs of illegal immigrants to selected geographical regions.

“We have an immigration crisis in our country, all right, and it is a good deal more demonstrably wrong than the millions of illegal immigrants in the shadows. It is costlier to the fabric of American life than the September 11 attacks were. Illogical, deadly, ruinous. Yet none of our leaders is raising a finger to stop it. On the contrary, it is our leaders who drive the destruction.” —Ames Holbrook, from The Deporter The true story of a dedicated deportation officer and his exposé of the worst aspects of U.S. immigration policy As one of fewer than six hundred elite Deportation Officers in the country, Ames Holbrook was assigned to the criminal mecca of New Orleans. He was charged with capturing and expelling some of the most wretched murderers, rapists, and child molesters who were aliens in the United States. But Holbrook was thwarted at nearly every turn…by the same U.S. government that employed him. Why? The reasons will shock and infuriate you. In the course of his compelling story, you will read the truth about how foreign governments treat the United States when agents such as Holbrook try to send criminal aliens back to their homelands. And, even more appalling, how Washington’s political hypocrisy forces the direct release of these criminals into unsuspecting American communities. Like every U.S. Deportation Officer, Ames Holbrook tried to make America safer. Then, when America’s leadership threatened the welfare of innocents, Holbrook rewrote the rules. He won commendations and increased responsibility for his promising results, but all the while, he was fighting a losing battle against the political powers that masqueraded as protectors while actually inflicting tragedy on America’s residents. It is Holbrook’s hope that the revelations in these pages might put America on a path to a safer future.

"By most accounts, the United States has deported around five million people since 1882-but this includes only what the federal government calls "formal deportations." "Voluntary departures," where undocumented immigrants who have been detained agree to leave within a specified time period, and "self-deportations," where undocumented immigrants leave because legal structures in the United States have made their lives too difficult and frightening, together constitute 90% of the undocumented immigrants who have been expelled by the federal government. This brings the number of deportees to fifty-six million. These forms of deportation rely on threats and coercion created at the federal, state, and local levels, using large-scale publicity campaigns, the fear of immigration raids, and detentions to cost-effectively push people out of the country. Here, Adam Goodman traces a comprehensive history of American deportation policies from 1882 to the present and near future. He shows that ome of the country's largest deportation operations expelled hundreds of thousands of people almost exclusively through the use of voluntary departures and through carefully-planned fear campaigns that terrified undocumented immigrants through newspaper, radio, and television publicity. These deportation efforts have disproportionately targeted Mexican immigrants, who make up half of non-citizens but 90% of deportees. Goodman examines the political economy of these deportation operations, arguing that they run on private transportation companies, corrupt public-private relations, and the creation of fear-based internal borders for long-term undocumented residents. He grounds his conclusions in over four years of research in English- and Spanish-language archives and twenty-five oral histories conducted with both immigration officials and immigrants-revealing for the first time the true magnitude and deep historical roots of anti-immigrant policy in the United Statesws that s

If you do not recognize we have an illegal alien crisis, you would not recognize your own house burning down in front of your eyes and turning to ash. Civil words cannot describe the American made crisis of illegal aliens invading the United States and the short-sighted myopic vision of the American Congress allowing it to continue unabated. Those of the liberal persuasion learned if illegal aliens also can vote, they will obtain an electoral advantage by keeping the Southern border of the United States open. Perhaps I missed their real intent. It is as though they also favor unfettered entry for drug cartels, violent criminal gangs, sex traffickers, medically unsound, those unable to work and support themselves and dilettantes. Could they profit? Those of the extremely conservative persuasion have their own agenda of acquiring cheap labor, especially in the construction industry so that illegal aliens can be paid low wages illegally, under the table, and without qualifications or education. $5 an hour is better than $20-$30 and hour. This American made crisis is a real conspiracy of political expediency by both parties who not only have ignored the problems caused by illegal aliens in our midst, but who continue to obfuscate, circumnavigate, and frustrate the voters and taxpayers of our country causing major economic costs in the trillions (over the decades), subverting the wage bases of American citizens, allowing diseased persons to spread their afflictions among Americans, encouraging social upheaval and moral decay, burdening the American education system and frankly, getting hundreds of Americans killed each year. The insanity must stop and must stop now. This book highlights the problem like a neon sign blinking in the face of the intoxicated politically challenged with warnings and dire predictions of the death of our country. Illegal aliens are an American produced tragedy that is a self-inflicted gaping wound.Racism is not a Factor. The charge of racism related to eliminating illegal aliens in America and intent on coming here is one of the biggest lies we are told by leftists. Like other big lies, they hope that repeating it will make it true, but they are dastardly evil co-opters. Illegal Aliens have no rights except to life. For murderers, rapists, sex traffickers, gangs, drug mules, and other heinous criminals, even the right to life is questionable. That is an objective statement. Someone has to throw out the trash. Illegal aliens are the second greatest internal threat to our country. We all are direct or indirect victims whether it be illegal welfare payments, hospital cost increases to cover nonpaying illegals, education costs including adding classrooms and teachers, dangerous drug importation, sex trafficking of women and children, documented rape of innocent victims that involve our children and grandchildren, or murder of American citizens including couples and individuals. Then we get to subsidize them through the various welfare programs including illegal subsidies through Medicaid loopholes. The U.S. Census is important to states for three reasons: 1) Number of Representatives in Congress, 2.) Distribution of federal funds, and 3.) Electoral College Votes. All of these issues are incendiary and worth all sides fighting over, not just for 2020, but going forward politically. Take distribution of federal funds. $900 billion is distributed from the federal government annually to the states and apportioned according to the census data. The money is used for schools, hospitals, roads, health care and a lot more. If even one crime is committed by an illegal alien, that is too much. Allowing illegal aliens to vote is the ultimate act of incomprehensible suicide for any society or country. This book covers the building of the border wall in detail, the history of immigration and the citizen question on census forms.
